Common Medicare Questions Answered

What can I get to supplement my Medicare?

With Original Medicare (Medicare Part A and Part B), you can buy a Medicare Supplement Insurance, or Medigap, policy. We can help you find a policy that is best for you when you schedule a free consultation. With Medicare Advantage, no supplemental insurance is required.

How does Medicare work?

Original Medicare is sometimes also referred to as the fee-for-service program because the government will pay directly for any of your healthcare services you receive while you pay the co-pays and deductibles. Original Medicare can cover a lot, but you will need to purchase prescription insurance, or Medicare Part D, and Medigap in addition to provide the full coverage you will need for all healthcare services. Medicare Advantage will include Original Medicare and Medicare Part D, but you will still need to pay the monthly premium for Medicare Part B.

Who is eligible for Medicare?

You can be eligible for Medicare if you are 65 or older, a legal U.S. citizen, and have worked for at least a total of ten years and paid Medicare taxes. Younger people receiving disability benefits or who have end stage renal disease might also be eligible.
